As a pioneer of the cement tile industry in India, Bharat Floorings has been producing top quality cement tiles and grout for use both in India as well as internationally. With over 85 years of experience in the trade, Bharat Floorings has constantly refined and improved its products and constantly innovates on the materials used to produce them.
We use a combination of traditional cement tile production methods, and all tiles are hand made and custom built. All pigments used are of the highest quality, and are sourced from the most reputed manufacturers. The tiles themselves have a rich proportion of cement. The wearing layer of the tile is at least 12mm to ensure greatest durability.
Manufacturing process for Heritage Tiles:
The design is produced using a brass divider whose side walls separate the colour zones.
A divider is inserted into the mould.
Each space is then filled with a semi-liquid mixture of marble powder, white cement and pigment.
The divider is removed, and the coloured layer is rapidly covered with semidry mortar that will form the back of the tile.
The mixture is compacted with a hydraulic compressor.
The tile is carefully taken out of the cast.
The tile is set aside for a few hours, and then immersed in water for at least 72 hours to complete the hydration process.
Then the tiles are stored for three weeks to allow the cement to dry and harden.
The tiles are carefully checked before packing in cardboard boxes and prepared for delivery. |
