Dr Bhau Daji Lad Museum is one of the oldest museums in India. It is a major tourist attraction in the city of Mumbai. The museum houses over 6000 precious artifacts like sculptures, pottery, coins, ivory work, paintings, etc.
The museum lay in neglect for many decades until 1996 when a combination of forces began the process of restoring it to its former glory as a vital node in the cultural life of the metropolis. The Museum and all those involved in its restoration have been honoured with an Award of Excellence given by UNESCO under its Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation programme, 2005.
Bharat Floorings were called upon to design a flooring that would fit in with the antiquity and grace of the museum. A vibrant Star and Diamonds flooring design in Jaisalmer yellow was chosen to add impact to the entrance of the museum.
